Did you Know: There are Options to Pay For Joshin

Joshin was created for the 1-in-5 families with special needs to get matched with a network of experienced and screened caregivers in your area!  Joshin is available to families that pay privately for care and also those who utilize Self Directed Medicaid funding!

How to Pay

how to payPrivate Pay Families:

  1. Download the Joshin app & create your account
  2. Select “NO” when a pop-up asks if you will be using Medicaid funding
  3. Enter payment information
  4. Select a subscription plan
  5. Create your Care Plan
  6. Review Joymaker Profiles, message & book away!

Private Pay Joymakers:

  1. Complete Joshin on boarding application process
  2. Once approved, download the Joshin app & create your account
  3. Complete your profile, fully (hint…Joymakers with great photos and robust profiles get booked the most!)
  4. Review Care Date requests by families. Note: Stripe Pay next to hourly rate in the families Care Plan
  5. You are paid 100% of hourly the rate. After a Care Date, funds are deposited to your account within 1-3 days through the in-app payment processing.

Self-Directed Families:

  1. Complete Self Directed Form after Joshin has been added to your Plan
  2. Download Joshin app and select “YES” when a pop-up asks if you will be using Medicaid funding
  3. Joshin bills the Fiscal Agent you list on the above form
  4. Complete Care Plan while waiting for account activation
  5. Fiscal Agent pays first monthly recruiting fee
  6. Your account is made live!

Joymakers & Self-Directed Families:

  1. Complete Joshin on boarding application process
  2. Once approved, download the Joshin app & create your account
  3. Complete your profile, fully (hint…Joymakers with great photos and robust profiles get booked the most!)
  4. Review Care Date requests by families. Note: Employer Pay next to hourly rate in the families Care Plan. This indicates that the family would like to hire you directly and pay outside of the Joshin app
  5. Hired outside of app and time sheets submitted by family to Fiscal Agent and processed per their payroll schedule. Opportunity to work consistent PT/FT hours!

Time sheets & Payroll: Once a family has found a Joymaker they would like to hire directly, they provide them with the employee paperwork to set up payment using their waiver funding for care staff.  Joymaker/Family are responsible for submitting a timesheet with hours worked to FMS for payment.  Joshin is not involved in this process. Opportunity to work consistent PT/FT hours!

Continued Features: Families can keep track of hours and manage care easily by using the booking feature in the Joshin app.  They send a Care Date requests, check the Joymaker in and out and the Joymaker leaves Care Notes.  After check out, the Joymaker and Family receive a pop-up survey to rate their Care Experience.  The Joymaker pay is based on the families Fiscal Agency payroll schedule and this information is shared by the family to the hired Joymaker.
